Missouri Unemployment: Employment in the state of Missouri has of late seen a robust increase corresponding to the growth in the state’s economy. Recently due to the recession, several industries and conglomerates have been badly hit with economic crisis, thus resulting in mass lay offs. According to the Missouri career resource center employment levels at higher skilled jobs have not noticed a sharp decrease, but lower skill level and lower rung jobs have been affected as everywhere else in the country. Thus unemployment rates have increased to levels never seen before in the state since the depression in the 1930s.
Now the condition is improving steadily and Missouri job searches have listings of fresh jobs yet again with the economy showing promising signs of returning to the normal state. Several companies or industries have recovered most of their losses and are starting to hire employees again in full force. The effects of the recession are clearly fading day by day. As of January 2010, Missouri unemployment levels have dropped from a high 12.6 per cent to a lower and encouraging 9.5per cent.
